Pete Maughan
Pete Maughan has been involved in a handful of businesses and organizations in his career. After graduating from Brigham Young University’s #2 ranked accounting program in 2005, he started several businesses, some being blockbuster successes and a couple becoming painful learning experiences. All in all, he has enjoyed spending time building these companies while also spending time with his family. He especially has enjoyed promoting health and wellness and believes in creating real value and treating customers, stakeholders, patients, vendors, and other business partners well.
One of his sites is Pete Maughan’s Google Profile. His profile will give you a bit more info about his history, philosophy, experience in health and medicine, and the direction he’s headed. He has plans and goals additional to medicine alone and he is looking for ways of increasing health and happiness in the lives of patients. He’s also looking for ways to leverage knowledge, intervene in behaviors that aren’t healthy, and to reinforce good behaviors to help people maintain healthy body weights and overall health.
You can also check out his Facebook profile here: http://www.facebook.com/petemaughan. As an old school social networker, he has been on Facebook just about since it was started since BYU was one of the first schools that adopted Facebook in a large way. He loves the ability to keep track of pictures of family and friends specifically.
You can also check out Pete Maughan’s profile on his website Weightlosswars which is a really fun weight loss challenge website here: http://www.weightlosswars.com/petemaughan. WeightLossWars has helped more than 100,000 people lose over a 1 million pounds! The main engine of Weight Loss Wars is competition. It’s what they do best. They help people by providing weight tracking in a competition environment where you create a challenge, call out your friends family, and or coworkers, and compete to see who can become the biggest loser of the bunch. Members can run weight loss challenges for their workplace using weight loss wars. And Weightlosswars sends out the invitations, keeps track of each competitors’ weight, and graphs and shows who is losing the most and how they’re ranked in real time throughout the competition. Contestants can choose to keep their body weight private or they can show it to the world. If they’re in a competition, their percentage loss or their actual pounds lost would show up on the weight loss contest wall that they are competing in. The weight loss competitions themselves can also be kept private or be made public depending on what the people in the competition want. Some want fame and glory, and others just want to lose the weight fast! Competitors’ weight loss is graphed against fellow contestants and a leader board shows who’s winning by losing the most pounds or the most percentage of body weight. The creator of the competition can choose whether the competition will be based on pounds lost, percentage of total body weight lost, or even on total minutes exercised or other health competitions.
Pete Maughan loves health and wellness in general and loves helping people live happier and healthier. Weightlosswars has been a fun project because it makes the difficult and often discouraging process of getting healthy by losing weight fun through competition and trash talk and support.
Pete Maughan is currently pursuing a career in medicine and and is looking forward to continuing to increase his education and his ability to help more people. Prolero has been a start for Pete but only one of his businesses and will not be his last endeavor in the health and wellness field.
